With outline planning permission approved by Trafford Council, Trafford Waters is set to become one of the UK’s most exciting new mixed-use, sustainable and vibrant urban neighbourhoods in the heart of TraffordCity. Located on the banks of the historic Manchester Ship Canal, the 53-acre site is being transformed into a brand-new, sustainable community within TraffordCity.

The masterplan, which will evolve over the next 20 years, will bring 3,000 new homes, over 100,000 sq. ft of amenity space up to 800,000 sq. ft of commercial space along with a brand-new park, public spaces and vibrant water corridors.

Work started at Trafford Waters in October 2022, and throughout the delivery of the development it is estimated to create over 5,000 jobs.  Alongside the delivery programme highlighted above, it will also include a new primary school and open spaces for residents, employees and visitors to live, work and play.
